形態特徵

• Densely tufted with short oblique rhizome. Culms slender, 25-60 cm tall, weakly few-angular, light green, smooth except below inflorescence, where scabrid, clothed at base with 4 to 6 bladeless sheaths only.
• Sheaths 5-18 cm long, tightly surrounding base of culm, membranaceous, brown or cinnamon colored, obliquely truncate at mucronate or short-bladed orifice; blades of upper sheaths setaceous, 5-15 mm long, light green.
• Inflorescence a terminal umbelliform corymb, bearing 2 or 3 spikelets, or at times reduced to a single spikelet; bracts scale-like, membranaceous, light brown, 5-8 mm long, briefly setose at obtuse apex. Spikelets lanceolate-ovate or lanceolate-oblong, 5-9 mm long, sub-acute at apex, subloosely 5- to 10-flowered; lateral spikelet(s) on a filiform peduncle 0.5-2.5 cm long, terminal spikelet sessile.
• Glumes oblong to lanceolate-oblong, 3 mm long, subobtuse, soon falling, membranaceous, brownish or somewhat rusty-brown, pale membranaceous margin decurrent at base down to rachilla. Achenes elliptic to oblong, trigonous, 1.3 mm long, mucronate at apex, sides grayish brown, punctulate; style ca. 3 mm long, 3-cleft at apex. Hypogynous bristles 6, filiform, silky, curled, sparsely spinulose only below apex, much surpassing achene.

分布

• 台灣 : In wet places on high mountains. Northeastwards to Taiwan.
• 世界 : Southern and southeastern Asia from India and Sri Lanka eastwards to western Malesia.
